Hearing on approval for land purchase

Aslan Christian Academy has a hearing on November 9, 2017 to approve its long awaited land purchase needed in order to house and care for upwards of 12-24 abused girls ages 11-17 in Treasure Valley, Idaho.

Prayers and letters of support are greatly needed as other properties we have visited and considered were opposed by neighbors. We all need to wear Joshua boots. We have done our share of wandering with six different properties considered, prior to this one. Like in Joshua’s time, God is telling us (Joshua 1:9), to be brave and courageous, I am going before you. It is time to claim our land!

How can you help?

1.  You can support these girls by sending a statement no later than November 3, 2017.  Any written statement after November 3, 2017 will not be accepted into the record.  Your statement needs to reference project as “Aslan Christian Academy Conditional Use Permit.”  (See below for a sample statement.)

2.  Attending the hearing on November 9, 2017, (the time will be announced one week before 11/9/17) at 1130 3 rd Ave. N., Public Hearing Room, Payette, Idaho.

3. Most importantly - Praying for the acceptance of the surrounding community and approval of Aslan's conditional use permit so we can move forward with our mission.

4. Forward this message on to friends and family and encourage them to support Aslan in this critical step to securing property.

Thank you for your support!

Blessings from Aslan Christian Academy Board,

Memorandum of Understanding with University of Idaho

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a community partnership between University of Idaho Extension- 4-H Youth Development Program and the Aslan Christian Academy.

The University of Idaho Extension, 4-H Youth Development Program’s mission is to provide positive youth development and life skills development through engaging hands-on activities using the experiential learning model and other research-based methods. 4-H helps kids belong, grow in independence, give back to their community, and master new skills and knowledge.

Hands on experience with hydroponic greenhouse crops, the use of Aslan’s commercial kitchen for culinary training in baking and dietary meal planning, and raising chickens for eggs are some programs envisioned in the partnership.  Nunhems USA, the vegetable seed business of Bayer CropScience, has donated a large portion of vegetable seeds to Aslan to help start the program.  Treasure Valley Seed company has indicated a similar seed donation of different type crops.
